Purple Cauliflower
04/20/2020
When I saw the produce manager putting out these vibrant purple cauliflower, I immediately thought, “Here’s a painting!”
In time, still life transformed into dinner, good, but not as exciting as painting, lacking the adrenaline rush!

Pen-Drawn Lily
04/14/2020
This was quickly drawn with a Signo Gel Pen. Watercolor also done quickly. This was spontaneous with little planning, just jump in and work fast. Sometime a lot of time thinking can be paralyzing.

Calla Lily
04/04/2020
It was a challenge simplifying this flower to show the shape with just some simple brush strokes. Used Daniel Smith Pearlescent White, Green and Gold.

Flowers: theme and variations.

Lilies have been a source of many paintings from the garden, most more realistic. It has been fun doing these, more spontaneous. Painted on black watercolor paper and Daniel Smith pearlescent watercolor paints. The lovely shimmer I have to leave to your imagination.
